SUBJECT: Lincoln Hills Interim Superintendent Will Have A Hard Time Solving Underlying Issues

Scott Walker reacted to the chaos at Lincoln Hills School For Boys by calling for the appointment of an interim superintendent for both Lincoln Hills School For Boys and Copper Lake School For Girls.

“We are glad the Governor has begun to take notice of the systematic dysfunction occurring at juvenile facilities,” said Rick Badger, Executive Director of AFSCME Wisconsin. “However, a new boss is not going to solve the underlying crisis at Lincoln Hills. Until the administration addresses the glaring staffing issues caused by unsafe work conditions and low pay, this crisis is going to continue.” 

For years AFSCME Wisconsin has urged Scott Walker and the legislature to pass legislation to enable workers to have a voice in their workplace.
