AFSCME Wisconsin Council 32 is proud to announce its 2025 scholarship program! Council 32 is devoted to improving educational accessibility for hardworking AFSCME families.

Federal money for programs and services that help millions of vulnerable Americans and employ many AFSCME members could be in jeopardy next year.

This Saturday, Democratic candidates for Governor participated in an extensive interview process conducted by the AFSCME PEOPLE Committee. The event was held in Madison and was open to members - many attended and provided great input!

AFSCME PEOPLE is excited about several of the candidates, and for that reason, will not be issuing an endorsement at this time.

Anti-worker forces are beginning to panic over fear this election signals an impending wave election as this win marks a continuation of pro-worker candidates winning in deeply conservative districts from Alabama to Wisconsin.

Dear Secretary Litscher,

AFSCME Wisconsin has grave concerns regarding the current state of the Department of Corrections. Please find attached an open letter from Executive Director Rick Badger.

AFSCME is pleased to see Governor Walker finally address the problems in the juvenile corrections system after nearly 7 years of crisis in the division.

AFSCME Local 1205, the American Red Cross and the NLRB are entering into an informal settlement of the complaints that were made in August about the implementation of cross training.

Through this settlement the Red Cross agrees to restore the conditions that existed before it started to require blood collection technicians to load and drive trucks and encouraged truck loaders/drivers to perform blood drawing and donor care work that has traditionally been performed only by blood collection technicians represented by AFSCME Local 1205 members in Wisconsin.

We are approaching the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King and AFSCME standing together in Memphis on behalf of sanitation workers. This was a watershed moment in our nation’s history.

AFSCME PEOPLE is pleased to announce our endorsement of Patty Schachtner in Senate District 10 (SD10).

“AFSCME is looking for candidates around the state who will champion our values and fight for working people in Madison. We saw all that and more in Patty,” said Executive Director of AFSCME Wisconsin, Rick Badger. “We encourage our members to support Patty in her bid for State Senate.”
